February "Regular" Reads
8)All Together Dead (Southern Vampire Myster... by Charlaine Harris (2/3/08) - Sookie is a telepath and, unfortunately, continues to garner the wrong kind of attention. In the 8th Souther Vampire Mystery book, Sookie must attend an uber-important vampire summit while also figuring out when the right-wing crazies will attack. Much darker than the previous books, and so I enjoyed it less (I like this series because it's fun and campy, not dark and dreary).
9) Whistling In the Dark by Lesley Kagen (2/4/08) - Ten-year-old Sally is on the hunt for a child-killer, while also dealing with a hospitalized mother, a drunk step-father and a wild-child of a younger sister. I liked the overall premise and loved Sally's character, but I became annoyed with Sally's obsession with one particular subject.
10) Dogs I Have Met: And the People They Found by Ken Foster (2/4/08) - I really liked The Dog's Who Found Me, Foster's first book, and I had high hopes that his second one would be as cohesive, moving and entertaining. While parts of it were fascinating and fun, it lacked an overall thread of thought - nothing really keeps the book together. Still a nice read, especially because he's so pit bull friendly (though I had to chuckle at his portrayal of vegans...)
Alright, so that's it for February - 13 books makes me a book whore. Go me.
