I overheard a woman at the coffee shop talking about an allergic reaction to an eye-antibacterial.

She said, "I don't even know what they put me on, and I didn't know it could have side effects."

Are we so complacent we don't even bother looking up the drug that will be taking residency upon our frickin eyes?

I don't know about you, but whenever I've been prescribed something, I introduce my doctor to the nify Q&A concept. Then, I peruse the almighty intarweb for other factoids. I ask my pharmacist about side effects and contraindications. Then, I determine if there are alternatives. Finally, I'll take the drug, if need be.

Doctors are humans. They have degrees, sure, but that in no way makes them gods of You. To not be a participant in your own health care is ridiculous and dangerous.

So. Take care of yourselves!
